AHPRA, ANMAC, and Home Affairs: what each source is for

Different bodies answer different questions

AHPRA and NMBA relate to professional registration for nurses and midwives. ANMAC may relate to skills assessment for some migration pathways. Home Affairs relates to visa information and decisions. Employers decide recruitment and workplace requirements.

A common mistake is treating one source as proof for another. This can create risky assumptions about registration, migration, employment, or study plans.

Use the right source for the right question

If the question is about registration, start with AHPRA/NMBA. If it is about a migration skills assessment, check ANMAC where relevant. If it is about visa eligibility or conditions, check Home Affairs or a registered migration professional. If it is about a job, check the employer and the actual job advertisement.

Frequently asked questions

Does registration guarantee migration outcome

No. Registration, skills assessment, nomination, visa, and employment decisions are separate areas. No outcome should be treated as guaranteed.
